The article deals with the manuscript of the so-called "Wiesbaden" version of Dostoevsky’s "Crime and Punishment". The paper investigates unsolved problems about the history of the draft text and of the creation of the novel. The study clarifies the sequence of rough notes and corrects the errors contained in the publications of the manuscript of "Crime and Punishment" (including the academic edition), as well as reconstructs the course of the author’s creative process. Our findings allow us to reveal new aspects of the history and nature of the author’s conception overall.
