Abstract: The 6th International Online Conference in the series Dostoevsky: Current State of Research—DOSTOEVSKY: SHORT FORMS, organized by the Research Center “Dostoevsky and World Culture” of the A.M. Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences and by the Commission for the Study of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s Creative Legacy of the RAS Academic Council “History of World Culture,” was held on March 3–5, 2025. The conference brought together scholars from various regions of Russia, the USA, Japan, Greece, Serbia, and Azerbaijan. Forty papers were presented, devoted both to the theory of the functionality of short forms in Dostoevsky’s work and to concrete analyses of his short-form writings. A concluding roundtable, “What Can We Say About the Theory and Classification of Short Forms Based on the Results of the Conference?”, was held. The conference program and full recordings are available online. Included in full is the introductory keynote by the conference’s principal organizer, Tatiana A. Kasatkina; the main theses of the theoretical papers are transcribed in considerable detail. In the summaries of the remaining papers and the notes on their discussions, close and primary attention is given to theoretical and methodological statements concerning the place of short forms in Dostoevsky’s work, their structure, and their functions.
